H.E. Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, will pay a visit to Turkey on 29 September 2016. The visit of Minister Rinkēvičs is a concrete indication of the solidarity that the Latvian Government has displayed for Turkey in the aftermath of the failed coup attempt on 15 July 2016.

Minister Rinkēvičs will meet with H.E Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and he will also be received by H.E. İsmail Kahraman, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and H.E. Binali Yıldırım, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey. Furthermore, Minister Rinkēvičs will visit the building of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, heavily damaged in the course of the coup attempt.

During the meetings, the sides will exchange views on bilateral relations as well as regional issues.
